ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Drew University women's soccer team played host Elizabethtown College to a scoreless tie in a Landmark Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Rangers (4-4-3, 0-1-1 LC) outshot the Blue Jays 14-11, but Adrienne McGallicher collected five saves for Etown (5-3-2, 0-1-1 LC).
Sophomore
Sarah Crowley turned aside the only Etown shot on goal and earned her third clean sheet of the season.
The Rangers attempted the only two shots on goal in the first half, but McGallicher denied graduate student
Maggie Speckhart in the fourth minute and freshman
Sophia Lara in the 45th minute.
Senior
Alexa Krause placed a shot on goal in the 53rd minute for Drew before Crowley recorded her lone stop less than a minute later.
Krause continued to threaten with two more shots on goal late in the game. But McGallicher came up with another stop in the 79th minute before preserving the tie in the closing seconds, diving to the turf on low rip from the right wing off a nice feed from graduate student
Rebecca Racine.
The Rangers are back in action on Wednesday, when they host Wilkes University at 7 p.m. in another Landmark Conference affair.
