OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Drew University women's volleyball team came away with a split in a tri-match at Stevenson University on Saturday.
The Rangers opened the day with a 3-0 sweep of Lebanon Valley College, winning 25-22, 25-17, 25-20 before dropping a 3-0 decision to Stevenson (25-11, 25-19, 25-20).
Against Lebanon Valley, freshman
Lindsey Millis led the way, throwing down a season-high 12 kills while making just two errors on 24 swings for a .417 hitting performance. She also notched seven digs.
Junior
Teeya Desgoutte added nine kills against LVC while sophomore
Alyssa Rachwal posted a double-double of 22 assists and 10 digs. Senior
Genevieve Sarinelli also totaled 10 digs while junior
Marissa Guajardo contributed five blocks (four solo).
The Rangers served up 10 aces – their fourth-highest total of the season – against the Valley, with junior
Emily Shirk leading the way with a career-high five aces.
Desgoutte tallied another seven kills versus Stevenson while Rachwal distributed 13 assists. Sarinelli scooped eight digs versus the Mustangs.
Drew continues its season on Friday, when it hosts Catholic University in its Landmark Conference opener starting at 7 p.m.
