MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's swimming & diving team cruised to a victory over Landmark Conference rival Susquehanna University on Saturday, downing the River Hawks 153-61 in their home opener on Saturday in the F.M. Kirby Pool.
The Rangers won all 13 events, with freshman
Ellis Murray and seniors
Katerina Poulathas and
Sam Trodick touching first in two events each. Murray prevailed in both the 50-freestyle (25.63) and the 100-freestyle (55.27) while Poulathas captured the 500-freestyle (5:25.43) and the 1,000-freestyle (11:05.49). Trodick claimed the 200-IM (2:16.98) and the 200-breaststroke (2:33.38).
Five other Rangers pocketed one individual victory each: freshman
Kyra Gorman in the 200-freestyle (2:02.23), sophomore
Ana McDonald in the 1-meter diving (179.45), senior
Emilie Tobin in the 200-butterfly (2:27.60), junior
Ece Onatca in the 200-backstroke (2:17.19), and sophomore
Chandler Straub in the 3-meter diving (166.30).
Drew also claimed both relay events. Murray, Trodick, Onatca, and junior
Kaitlyn Zayle won the 200-medey relay in 1:53.20 while Zayle, Onatca, Poulathas, and Gorman won in 1:44.73.
The Rangers pick up their schedule on Dec. 6-7 with the Ranger Invitational.
