MADISON, N.J. – Four members of the Drew University women's swimming & diving team have been recognized for their performance in the pool and in the classroom with their selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Senior
Kaitlyn Zayle captured her third career Academic All-District honor while sophomores
Kyra Gorman,
Ellis Murray, and
Morgan Wilson were received the award for the first time.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swimming & diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average. They must also compete in 75 percent of their team's competitions or finish in the top-eight at a conference meet, or compete at a national championship. Each school may nominate a maximum of four student-athletes per gender for the CSC Academic All-America® program in swimming & diving.
A Psychology major, Zayle earned a pair of All-Landmark Conference honors this past season. She captured second team recognition for swimming on the 200-freestyle relay team that placed second, and she was an honorable mention selection for taking third in the 400-freestyle relay. She is also a member of the 200-freestyle relay team that set the school record (1:37.35) in 2023.
An Environmental Science major, Gorman earned three First Team All-Landmark Conference honors, as she won the gold in all three sprint freestyle events. In addition, she captured Second Team All-Landmark recognition for swimming on the three different relays (200-freestyle, 200-medley, 400-medley) that took second. She was also an All-Landmark Conference Honorable Mention selection by virtue of swimming the third-place 400-free relay team.
Murray, a Biology major, was named Second Team All-Landmark Conference this past season as a member of the 200-medley relay team that took the silver. In addition, she reached the championship final in two events, placing sixth in the 200-backstroke and seventh in the 200-IM.
A Biochemistry & Molecular Biology major, Wilson competed in three events at the Landmark Conference Championships this past season. She posted her top finish in the 200-breaststroke, tying for 11th.
The four helped the Rangers finish third at the Landmark Conference Championships, marking the sixth year in a row that the squad placed among the top-three at the conference championship.
