STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Drew University men's indoor track & field team competed in its final meet before the Landmark Conference Championships on Friday evening at the Garden State Collegiate Open, held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Freshman
Zach Mogambi led the Rangers with a victory in the weight throw with a toss of 43-7 3/4 , beating out five competitors with a mark that placed him sixth on the Landmark Conference performance list this year. He also took second in a field 14 in the shot put (43-9 3/4) while junior
Mike Borrelli was fifth in the shot put (37-10 1/2).
Freshman
Adian Hanson placed 13th out of 49 competitors in the 60-meter dash (7.21) and was 12th in a field of 46 in the 200-meter dash (22.91). Classmate
Jeff Ayeh-Datey was close behind in both events, placing 16th in the 60 (7.26) and 14th in the 200 (23.07).
Junior
Ricky Ruto Talam finished 10th in a field of 39 in the 800-meter run in 2:00.16, with a banked track converted time that places him seventh on the Landmark Conference performance list. Sophomore
Gaetano Allegri came in 18th in the same event (2:05.63).
Junior
Toby Gaynor finished 13th among 39 competitors in the mile in 4:31.58.
The Rangers compete at the Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Susquehanna University.
