All-Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Team
TOWSON, Md. – Sophomore
Emily Camlet and senior
Melina Christodoulou were named to the All-Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Team by virtue of their performances at the indoor conference championship this past Saturday at Susquehanna University.
Athletes achieving first-place are given first-team status, while those securing second-place finishes earn second-team recognition. Third-place finishers receive honorable mention.
Camlet and Christodoulou each captured first-team honors after becoming the first athletes to win a Landmark Conference title for the Drew University track & field teams, who are competing in their inaugural seasons as varsity programs this year. Camlet raced to a season-best time while capturing the gold in the 400-meter dash, sprinting the two-lap event in 59.24 seconds. She also scored in the 200-meter dash, taking eighth in 27.12.
Christodoulou soared 5-4 1/2 in the high jump to earn a place atop the podium, clearing her first three heights on her first attempt, then leaping 5-4 1/2 on her second attempt. Her jump was a season-best mark and places her 34th on the current NCAA Division III leaderboard. She scored additional points for the Rangers with her sixth-place finish in the triple jump (34-4 3/4).
As a team, the Rangers scored 40 points and tied Juniata College for sixth place while finishing in front of Goucher College.
