SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, Pa. – Sophomore
Elliot Parker shot a 4-under-par 68 to claim medalist honors by one stroke and the Drew University men's golf team turned in a pair of strong team performances on Thursday at the "Conquer the Island" tournament, hosted by Drew at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.
Parker earned his fourth victory in eight events this season while edging out Moravian University's Jason Koch by one stroke. He fired five birdies on the day, including four in a row from the third through the sixth holes, and tied the second-best score of his collegiate career.
In the team standings, the Rangers "B" squad fired a 296 to finish in second place among 15 teams while Drew's "A" team tied for third with a 301. Moravian claimed the team title with a 293.
The event was held at the site of this year's Landmark Conference Championships, which will take place April 27-28.
Two other Rangers broke the top-10 in the field of 77, as freshman
Eric Castner and sophomore
Liam Larkin of the B team each tied for fourth with an even-par 72.
Rounding out the team score for the B team were senior
Myles Cherry and freshman
Ray Kim, each of whom tied for 14th with a 76. Other Rangers who were in action for the B squad were freshman

Max Conklin (79), senior
Matvey Pangan (79), and senior
Ryan Firman (89).
Sophomore
Shiv Bhaskar was the second finisher for Drew's primary squad, as he tied for 19th with a 77. Sophomore
Ryan Ricci (77) and junior
Mike Ford (79) completed the team scoring while freshman
Nicky Riscica also competed and shot an 82.
The Rangers are back in action on Saturday and Sunday at the Gettysburg College Shootout, held at Penn National Golf Course in Fayetteville, Pa.
