FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. – The Drew University men's golf team fired its best round of the spring in the second round of the Gettysburg College Shootout on Sunday at Penn National Golf Course and the Rangers finished the tournament fifth out of 12 teams.
Drew shot a 606 for the 36-hole event, firing a 295 on Sunday after opening with a 311 on Saturday.
Sophomore
Elliot Parker led the Rangers, finishing in a four-way tie for sixth place with a 3-over-par 147 (73-74). He birdied four holes on Sunday and finished with seven for the tournament.
Sophomore
Liam Larkin turned in a strong showing on Sunday, firing an even-par 72 for the second time in his last three rounds. He notched four birdies on Sunday and finished the tournament tied for 23rd with a 153 (81-72).
Freshman
Eric Castner was Drew's third finisher, tying for 25th with a score of 154 (80-74). He parred 14 holes and birdied another on Sunday after recording three birdies on Saturday.
Sophomore
Shiv Bhaskar rounded out the team scoring, tying for 35th with a 157 (76-81) while junior
Mike Ford was also in action and tied for 44th with a 160 (85-75).
Drew will send a "B" team to the DeSales University Invitational on Tuesday at Olde Hempstead Golf Club in New Tripoli, Pa. The Rangers will then compete at the Landmark Conference Championships Saturday and Sunday at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort at Shawnee on Delaware, Pa.
