BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Sophomore
Elliot Parker concluded an outstanding season on Wednesday in the second round of the NCAA Division III Championships at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Nevada.
Parker recorded a 78 (+6) for the day and finished his debut at the national tournament with a 150 (+6). Through two rounds, he was tied for 87th place in a field of 221 golfers. Competing as an individual, he did not make the cut to compete in the final two rounds of the championship.
Parker's 150 marks the best 36-hole score in team history at the NCAA Championships, as teammate
Mike Ford and
Lucas Artigliere C'23 each shot a 165 when the Rangers made their team debut at the event in 2022. Parker's even-par 72 in the opening round on Tuesday was also the best in squad history at the championship.
Starting on hole 10, Parker shot a 40 over the back-9 and carded consecutive birdies on the par-5 13th and par-4 14th holes. He opened the front-9 with three straight pars before dropping in his final birdie of the day on the par-3 fourth hole. He concluded the tournament by shooting par on two of the last five holes.
Parker finished the year with an average of 71.4 – over two strokes better than his own school record established last season. He won five of his 11 events, broke the top-five eight times, and cracked the top-10 in all but two of his events. He was ranked 29th in Division III in the latest Clippd national rankings.
