POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Drew University men's soccer team saw its five-match unbeaten streak come to an end with a 2-1 loss at Vassar College in a non-conference outing Tuesday afternoon.
The Brewers (5-1), who scored on their only two shots on goal, broke a 1-1 tie with what held up as the game-winning goal in the 52nd minute.
Ranked fifth regionally, Vassar struck first, scoring in the eighth minute. But the Rangers (4-2-1) quickly answered on a penalty-kick goal from junior
James Cahill.
The Rangers outshot the Brewers 14-6, but Vassar's Jacob Raphan made seven saves.
Drew is back in action on Saturday, when it visits NYU in a non-conference matchup starting at 3:30 p.m.
