MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's volleyball team earned its first sweep of the season, downing Bryn Mawr College 3-0 in a non-conference outing Friday evening in Baldwin Gym.

The Rangers won by scores of 25-8, 25-19, and 25-9.

Drew served up a season-high 15 aces, tying for the sixth-most in team history.

Sophomore Alyssa Rachwal paced the Rangers with 24 assists, nine digs, and six aces. In addition, her next-to-last assist of the night was the 1,000th of her career, making her just the second Ranger in the four-year history of Drew women's volleyball to reach the mark.

Junior Teeya Desgoutte added 11 kills and 11 digs while classmate Emily Shirk led the squad with 14 digs. Junior Marissa Guajardo (four aces) and freshman Aidyn Stone (three aces) also contributed to the team's big serving night.

Drew never trailed in the opener after jumping out to a 7-3 lead. The Rangers then put it out of reach with a 10-1 run then included three kills from Shirk and two from junior Inaya Stanford. Drew went on to close the set on a 6-0 run that included three aces and a kill from Rachwal.

The Owls led 8-5 early in the second set before the Rangers broke it open again, this time with a 9-0 run, and the hosts maintained at least a five-point advantage the rest of the way.

The third set was also close early on, and Drew led just 11-8 before it caught fire and ended the match on a 14-1 run.

The Rangers continue their season on Wednesday, when they visit Merchant Marine at 7 p.m. in a non-conference outing.
