GLASSBORO, N.J. – Senior
Alexa Krause scored a pair of goals, but the Drew University women's soccer team was handed a 4-2 setback at Rowan University in a non-conference affair Saturday afternoon.
Mackenzie Clement netted a hat trick for the Profs (5-0-1) with three goals, including two that came on a penalty kick.
Rowan outshot the Rangers 23-4, but sophomore
Sarah Crowley made a season-high nine saves for Drew.
The Rangers struck first, when Krause drilled in an unassisted tally in the 18th minute. However, the Profs answered with next three tallies to assume at 2-1 lead at halftime.
Clement scored her first PK goal in the 54th minute. But four minutes later, Krause struck again to make it 3-2. The goal marked Krause's 11th career multi-goal showing.
It remained a one-goal game until the 76th minute on Clement's final PK tally.
The Rangers pick up their schedule on Tuesday, when they host local river FDU-Florham in a non-conference tilt starting at 7 p.m.
