CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Drew University men's soccer team earned a 1-0 non-conference victory at DeSales University on Tuesday afternoon.
The Rangers (5-2-2) handed the Bulldogs (6-2) just their second loss of the season.
Senior
Kevin Kiernan scored the game's lone goal, striking on a free kick in the 35th minute. After the DeSales was whistled for a foul just outside the box, Kiernan slotted a shot past a diving keeper and just inside the right post for his team-leading sixth goal of the season.
Drew outshot the Bulldogs 19-10 and allowed just two shots on goal – both of which were stopped by graduate student
David Hoyt, who recorded his third clean sheet of the season.
Jimmy Shensky turned aside four shots for DeSales.
The Rangers visit Juniata College at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in their Landmark Conference opener.
