MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's volleyball team lost by a 3-0 count to Kean University in a non-conference match Thursday evening in Baldwin Gym.
Junior
Emily Shirk posted six kills and 10 digs for the Rangers (1-3) while classmate
Marissa Guajardo also notched six kills and a pair of aces. Junior
Teeya Desgoutte chipped in with five kills and seven digs, and sophomore
Alyssa Rachwal distributed 19 assists.
Bella Stem posted 13 kills to lead Kean (3-3).
The Cougars won by scores of 25-15 and 25-10 in the first two sets, but the Rangers did not go away and held a 22-17 lead in the third set. However, that's when the visitors rallied to end the match with an 8-0 run.
Drew continues its season on Saturday, when it travels to Rowan University for a tri-match. The Rangers face Widener University at noon before taking on Rowan at 2 p.m.
