TOWSON, Md. – For the second time this season, sophomore Sage Hendershot of the Drew University women's indoor track & field team has been chosen as the Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Hendershot broke the Landmark Conference indoor record in the long jump, gliding 5.73 meters (18-9 3/4) at the Widener Winter's Evening Invite, held at the University of Pennsylvania, to surpass the previous mark of 5.59 meters set by Susquehanna's Remi Acord last season. She finished second among 28 competitors, finishing behind only Rainah Dunham of Ursinus College (5.83m).
 
Hendershot recorded her record-breaking leap on her sixth and final jump of the night, and she also exceeded 18 feet on three other attempts as well. Her performance also bettered her own Drew record and at the time of the jump, vaulted her to No. 8 on the current NCAA Division III performance list in the event.
 
The Rangers continue their season on Sunday, when they travel to the DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg University.
