MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's swimming & diving team captured four individual victories but was handed a 181-90 loss by Catholic University in the season opener for both teams Saturday afternoon in F.M. Kirby Pool.
Sophomore
Kyra Gorman, the reigning Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year, won two events, touching first in both the 50-freestyle (25.81) and the 100-freestyle (56.26). Junior
Ana McDonald contributed a pair of victories as well with a sweep in the diving events. She earned a score of 157.90 on the 1-meter board and 135.80 in the 3-meter.
Freshman
Adriana Scanga also contributed a victory, as she captured the 100-butterfly in 1:02.70. In addition, she placed second in the 200-butterfly (2:22.01).
Sophomore
Ellis Murray contributed three runner-up finishes, taking second in the 100-backstroke (1:01.09), 200-backstroke (2:14.60), and the 200-IM (2:19.46).
The Rangers return to action on Oct. 24, when they travel to York (Pa.) College for a dual meet starting at 5 p.m.
