TOWSON, Md. – For the sixth time in his career, junior
Nicholas Heinio-Widell has earned the Landmark Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week award, conference officials announced on Tuesday.
The two-time defending Landmark Conference Swimmer of the Year and a national qualifier last season, Heinio-Widell won four events, including three individual victories, to lead the Rangers in their season opener versus Catholic University this past Saturday. He touched first in the 50-freestyle (21.61), 100-butterfly (51.79), and the 200-IM (1:58.85) while also swimming on the winning 200-medley relay team (1:36.03). All of his times are currently the fastest in the Landmark Conference this season.
The Rangers continue their season on Oct. 24 with a dual meet at York (Pa.) College starting at 5 p.m.
