WASHINGTON – The Drew University men's soccer team lost by a final of 3-0 to No. 23-ranked Catholic University in a Landmark Conference matchup Saturday afternoon.
 
The undefeated Cardinals (9-0-5, 4-0-2 LC) scored twice in the opening 17 minutes and carried a 2-0 lead into halftime. They added an insurance tally in the 47th minute when Seth Michalak scored his second goal of the day.
 
Junior Donovan Friedhoff made six saves for the Rangers (8-4-2, 2-3-1 LC), who were facing their first nationally-rankedo opponent of the season, while Owen Allegro stopped one shot for Catholic.
 
The Cardinals outshot Drew 4-1 in the first half and 10-5 in the second stanza, when Friedhoff made five of his saves.
 
The Rangers return to action on Tuesday, when they visit Elizabethtown College at 7 p.m. in another Landmark Conference tilt.
