ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Junior
Andrew Dunne scored what held up as the game-winning goal in the eighth minute while classmate
Donovan Friedhoff made three saves to earn the shutout and the Drew University men's soccer team captured a 1-0 decision at Elizabethtown College in a big Landmark Conference affair Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Rangers (9-4-2, 3-3-1 LC) find themselves tied with Juniata College for fourth place in the Landmark Conference standings with two matches left in their season. The top six teams quality for the Landmark Conference Championship tournament.
Drew outshot the Blue Jays 14-6 and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks while picking up its first win over Etown since a 2-1 double-overtime victory in the semifinals of the 2021 Landmark Conference Championship.
It was the second shutout of the season for Friedhoff, who preserved the victory with a save in the final minute.
Sam Frey made four saves for the Blue Jays (3-9-4, 0-4-3 LC).

Turkcan Curak, who quickly found Dunne streaking down the left side of the field. Dunne made one touch before drilling a low shot off the keeper and into the net for all of the offense Drew would need.
The Rangers pick up their schedule on Saturday, when they host Landmark Conference foe Juniata College at 3:30 p.m. on Senior Day.
