SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, Pa. – The Rangers have taken the lead in both the team and individual standings following the opening round of the Landmark Conference Fall Preview on Saturday at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.
Drew fired a 9-over-par 297 and lead Goucher by 10 strokes. Catholic, Juniata, and Moravian are tied for third with a 310 and are followed by Scranton (313), Susquehanna (314), Elizabethtown (318), Wilkes (339), and Lycoming (345).
Individually, senior
Elliot Parker opened with a 1-under 71 and leads by one stroke heading into the second and final round. He opened with a 34 on the front-9 and shot four birdies on the day.
Junior
Avery Cohen is just one stroke back, tied with Susquehanna's Mark Twombly for second place after shooting even-par on Saturday. He recorded three birdies in the opening round.
Sophomore
Sam Dolan posted the next-best score for Drew, opening with a 76 and firing four birdies. He is currently tied for 10th place in the field of 49.
Junior
Thomas Hurley completed Drew's team scoring on Saturday after carding a 78, which included a pair of birdies. Senior
Shiv Bhaskar is also competing and shot a 79, which also included two birdies, to place him in a tie for 21st.
Sunday's second round gets underway at 7:57 a.m. back at Shawnee. Drew's golfers will tee off between 9:45 and 10:21 a.m.
