MADISON, N.J. – Team and individual titles will be on the line when the Drew University men's and women's swimming & diving teams travel to the Mangione Aquatic Center at Loyola University in Baltimore for the Landmark Conference Championships from Thursday through Saturday.

Led by 10th-year Head Coach Rich Munson, the Rangers have posted a number of outstanding showings throughout the season. On the men's side, Drew has recorded the top time in 13 events, including all five relays, while the women's team is seeded among the top-three in six individual events and is second in four different relays.

The men's team finished as the Landmark Conference runner-up last year, when it also broke a program record for the most points scored at the meet.

This year, the Rangers finished 3-2 in dual meet competition and posted a tremendous performance at the Ranger Invitational back on Dec. 6-7, when they broke five school records and two Landmark Conference records while achieving one NCAA B cut.

Individually, sophomore Nicholas Heinio-Widell is coming off a stellar showing at his Landmark Conference Championship debut a year ago, when he was named both the Swimmer of the Year and Rookie of the Year after winning all seven events he competed in (four relay, three individual), breaking three Landmark Conference Championship meet records, resetting three school records, and achieving one NCAA B cut. This year, Heinio-Widell enters the championship seeded first in all three of his individual events – the 200-IM, 100-butterfly, and the 100-freestyle.

Four other Rangers will also compete as No. 1 seeds – junior Brendan Burkett in both the 50- and 200-freestyle, freshman Thiago Silva in the 100-breaststroke, freshman Hunor Harsanyi in the 200-breaststroke, and sophomore Kyle Talerico in the 200-butterfly.

Burkett is also seeded second in the 100-freestyle, as is Harsanyi in the 100-breaststroke, Silva in the 50-freestyle, Talerico in the 200-IM, sophomore Liam Gregory in the 500-freestyle, and senior Yan Zheng Lew in the 100-backstroke.

Entering the meet as No. 3 seeds are sophomore Santiago Rubio Marrodan in the 3-meter diving, Lew in the 400-IM, Talerico in the 100-butterfly, junior Gabe Spivak in the 100-breaststroke, Gregory in the 1650-freestyle, junior Ricky Kilichowski in the 200-backstroke, and Silva in the 100-freestyle.

For the women's team, which finished third at last year's championship, five different Rangers enter the meet seeded second: senior Emilie Tobin in the 200-IM, freshman Kyra Gorman in the 200-freestyle, freshman Ellis Murray in the 100-backstroke, junior Ece Onatca in the 200-backstroke, and senior Sam Trodick in the 200-breaststroke.

Tobin is also ranked third in the 400-IM while the 200-medley, 800-freestyle, 400-medley, and 200-freestyle relays are all seeded second.
