UNION, N.J. – The Drew University men's volleyball team battled Kean University to five sets, but the host Cougars came away with a 3-2 victory on Friday evening.
Kean won by scores of 25-16, 22-25, 25-22, 15-25, and 15-13.
Freshman
Matthew Adegbite led the Rangers with a big match, hammering 15 kills while making just three errors on 41 swings for a .293 hitting performance. He also three down three blocks (two solo). Senior
C.J. Addeo added nine kills and five blocks (two solo) while classmate
Ephraim Smith contributed nine kills and nine digs. Freshman
Gio Martin pitched in with eight kills and 11 digs.

Quinn Donahue handed out 35 assists, and fellow first-year
Eric Forget scooped up 12 digs. Freshman
Michael Shipman added a season-high six blocks (two solo).
Chris Mitchell led Kean (10-8, 1-2 CVC) with 24 kills.
The Rangers bolted to an 8-5 lead in the fifth set and were four points from a win, leading 11-7 before the Cougars ended the match on a 8-2 run. Adegbite's final kill tied the match at 13-13, but Kean scored the last two points on a service error and a kill from Mitchell.
The Rangers continue their season with a tri-match at Rutgers-Newark on Saturday, as they take on the hosts in a CVC matchup at noon and Elmira College in a non-conference affair at 2 p.m.
