TOWSON, Md. – For the fifth time this season and the 12th time in his career, junior
Elliot Parker has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Golf Athlete of the Week.
Parker won medalist honors for the second time this spring, firing a 1-under-par 71 to capture the Ursinus Spring Awakening. He tied Ursinus' Billy Breslin for first; however, Parker was awarded the title on the third tiebreaker, edging Breslin 12 to 14 on the last three holes score. His efforts led the Rangers to the team title, as Drew fired a 295 to beat out eight other teams while outdistancing runner-up Ursinus by 19 strokes.
For the season, Parker has averaged a 70.9 over 19 rounds this year. He has claimed at least a share of first place in five of his nine events.
The Rangers continue their season on Tuesday at the Conquer the Island tournament at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort in Shawnee on Delaware, Pa.
