BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior
Emily Camlet and sophomore
Sage Hendershot broke one Landmark Conference record apiece to lead the University women's track & field team at the Coach Pollard Invitational, hosted by Moravian University, on Friday.
Â
Camlet won the 400-meter dash in 56.57 seconds to edge the former conference record of 56.63 set by Susquehanna's Sara Arbogast in 2016. She beat out 34 competitors, won the event by over a second, and finished 1.8 seconds ahead of her nearest Division III competitor. Entering the day, her time would rank 24th on the current NCAA Division III performance list.
Â
Hendershot soared 5.92 meters (19-5) in the long jump to better the former Landmark Conference record set by Susquehanna's Remi Acord in 2023. She won the 40-competitor event, edging out Dickinson's Annie Leder by two inches. Hendershot's jump would have placed her into a tie for fourth on this year's NCAA Division III performance list.
Sophomore
Lauryn Brown added a victory for the Rangers, capturing the triple jump with school-record and Landmark Conference-leading mark of 11.55 meters (37-10 1/2) to beat 21 other jumpers.
Â
Camlet also finished at the runner-up in a field of 51 in the 200-meter dash, hitting the finish line in 25.57 seconds and lowering her own school record set in the team's inaugural season last year. Meanwhile, Hendershot also took fourth among 37 competitors in the 100-meter dash, breaking her own Drew record in 12.54 seconds in the final, and took 13th in the 200 (26.63).
