Softball to Hold StrikeOut Cancer Game With FDU-Florham

MADISON, N.J. – For the second year in a row, the Drew University softball team will hold an NFCA "StrikeOut Cancer" event when it hosts FDU-Florham in a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday starting at 3 p.m.

All of the proceeds will go to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Massachusetts. There are two options for donating – either a flat donation, or an amount per strikeout. Those wishing to support the Rangers in this initiative may sign up here.

Last season, the Rangers raised over $2,200 for the initiative, and they are hoping to reach or break that amount this year.

The NFCA's StrikeOut Cancer is a support program that aids member coaches with their own awareness initiatives. The program leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of fastpitch softball coaches nationwide to help increase cancer education and promote healthy living through awareness efforts and fundraising activities.

Since starting the StrikeOut Cancer initiative more than 10 years ago, NFCA members have raised thousands of dollars to support the fight against cancer. These monetary donations allow cancer organizations to continue their efforts to prevent cancer, save lives, and diminish suffering from the disease through research, education, advocacy, and service.
