Women’s Track & Field Earns Pair of Runner-Up Finishes at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Drew University women's track & field team earned a pair of runner-up finishes at the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival on Friday and Saturday.
 
Team scoring was not kept at the large and competitive meet, which included well over 50 competitors in numerous events.
 
Leading the way for the Rangers were junior Emily Camlet and sophomore Sage Hendershot, who posted one runner-up finish apiece. Camlet took on 51 competitors in the 200-meter dash and placed second with a time of 25.71 seconds. She also placed 14th in a field of 42 in the 800-meter run, dropping her own school record to 2:25.93.
 
Hendershot placed second among 48 competitors in the 100-meter dash, lowering her own school record in 12.63 seconds. In addition, she finished 10th in the 200 in 26.96 seconds.
 
Junior Lauryn Brown turned in Drew's next highest finish, placing fourth in a field of 15 in the triple jump while improving upon her own Drew record with a mark of 10.87 meters (35-8). Senior Mazzy Cirinelli also cracked the top-eight, placing sixth out of 29 competitors in the high jump with a clearance of 1.45 meters (4-9).
 
Senior Caitlin Mulvey and freshman April Kusnier also placed among the top half of their field. Mulvey came in 10th out of 27 competitors in the 5,000-meter run (20:13.98) while Kusnier came in 12th among 39 runners in the 1,500 (5:02.18).
 
The Rangers continue their season next Saturday, when they travel to the Rowan Invitational.
