CSC Academic All-District Men's Tennis Team
MADISON, N.J. – Sophomore
Daniel Arcari and senior
Josh Kline of the Drew University men's tennis team have been recognized for their performance on the court and in the classroom with their selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Â
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
Â
To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average. They must also compete in 70 percent of an institution's matches that include a team score.
Â
A Business major, Arcari posted an 11-10 record for the season, including a 4-2 mark in Landmark Conference play, while competing at No. 2 singles. He also recorded an overall doubles record of 16-14 with senior
Jesse Faro, and the two went 5-2 in conference play. Arcari earned a spot on the All-Landmark Conference First Team in doubles and garnered honorable mention all-conference recognition in singles.
Â
Kline, an Economics major, earned his second CSC Academic All-District award this year after picking up the same award during basketball season this past winter. He finished with an 8-8 singles record, splitting his time between the Nos. 4-6 positions, and went 4-4 in Landmark Conference matches. In addition, he posted a 10-6 doubles record, primarily at the No. 3 spot, while recording a 7-2 mark in Landmark Conference matches.
Â
The pair helped the Rangers finish 12-9 and 7-2 in Landmark Conference matches. Drew earned the No. 3 seed in the Landmark Conference Championships and advanced to the conference final, where it battled No. 1-seeded Goucher College in a tight 4-3 loss.
