MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's golf team will make its second appearance at the NCAA Division III Championship when it competes among the nation's best Tuesday through Friday at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, N.Y.

The championships are being hosted by St. John Fisher College and Rochester NY Sports Commission. The tournament will consist of 43 teams, as the two selection pools include 34 automatic qualifiers and nine at-large berths.

The team and individual champions will be determined after 72 holes of play or the conclusion of the last fully-completed round. After 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top-18 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams.

In addition to Midvale, first and second round competition will be played simultaneously at Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor, New York.

The Rangers gained entry into the tournament by virtue of winning the Landmark Conference title back on April 26-27. The team jumped to a seven-stroke lead after the opening round, then held off a second-round charge from the University of Scranton and edged out the Royals by one stroke (600-601) to take home the team's first conference title since 2022, when the Rangers also received an automatic berth in the NCAA Championships.

While Drew will be making its second NCAA appearance as a team, it will be the squad's third overall appearance at the national tournament, as junior Elliot Parker qualified as an individual last season.

Under first-year Head Coach Lucas Artigliere C'23, the Landmark Conference Coach of the Year, the Rangers will feature a lineup of two juniors and three sophomores.

For the season, Parker has been the team's top performer, averaging a 71.1 over 22 rounds. A GCAA/PING All-Region selection for the third year in a row, he currently ranks 27th in Division III as of the latest Clippd rankings and has won six of his 11 events while finishing in the top-10 all but once. Parker shot a season-low 67 in the opening round of the Golden Oaks Shootout, where he fired a school record for 36 holes, winning the event with a 135 (67-68). At the Landmark Conference Championships, Parker shot a 146 (73-73) and placed third, earning First Team All-Landmark honors for the third straight season.

Sophomore Avery Cohen has also posted an impressive season and recently joined Parker on the GCAA/PING All-Region III Team. He has shot a team-leading 23 rounds this season while averaging a 74.1 – a mark that ranks second among the Rangers. He shot a career-low, 6-under-par 66 – one shy of the school record – in the second round of the Golden Oaks Shootout and finished with a 36-hole score of 142 to place second overall. He won the Drew Birdie Bash for the "B" team with a 3-under 69, and he also fired a 69 in the opening round of The Ruckus. In addition, Cohen tied for seventh place with a 151 (73-78) at the Landmark Conference Championships, earning Second Team All-Landmark Conference honors.

Junior Liam Larkin will also compete for the Rangers and is coming off an outstanding performance at the Landmark Conference Championships, where he took the lead with a career-low and 3-under-par 69 in the opening round before eventually finishing second with a 145, earning first-team all-conference honors. He has averaged a 75.6 – third among the Rangers – over 15 rounds this season and has placed in the top-10 in seven of his 11 events. Larkin has also broken the top-five on four occasions, including a victory for the "B" team at the FDU-Florham Invitational.

Sophomores Eric Castner and Thomas Hurley will also represent the Blue and Green at the Championships. Castner has averaged a 76.4 while shooting 20 rounds, and he tied his career-low with an even-par 72 in the opening round of the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate. He has broken the top-10 in six of his 13 events, including a third-place finish at the FDU-Florham Invitational and a fourth-place (tied) showing at the Ursinus College Spring Awakening.

Hurley has averaged a 77.3 over 15 rounds for Drew this season and fired a 1-over, career-low 73 to win "The Bear," hosted by Ursinus College, for the B team.

For the season, Drew has averaged a 295.4, winning seven of its 11 events on the season. The team closed the season on a flurry, winning its final three events, capped by its victory at the Landmark Conference Championships. The Rangers have shot under 300 in 15 of their 22 rounds, and in one of the their most impressive performances, shot a 574 (290-284) to win Arcadia University's Golden Oaks Shootout on Sept. 28-29, setting team records for the lowest score for both 18 and 36 holes. The team also fired a 584 (288-296) to win The Melee, held Oct. 20-21 in Williamsburg, Va.
