TOWSON, Md. – Mary Kalorin has been selected as the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's tennis, conference officials announced on Wednesday.
 
The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics. The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications directors, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designees.

Kalorin becomes the second consecutive — and second overall — Ranger to earn the honor, following former teammate Melina Christodoulou's C'24 recognition in 2024.

A neuroscience major with minors in psychology and public health, Kalorin has excelled as a scholar, athlete, and leader during her time in Madison. She earned her third consecutive College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honor and will be a three-time Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll honoree. Kalorin has worked extensively as a writing specialist at Drew, helping students with biology, chemistry, and neuroscience coursework. She has also served as a teacher's assistant in systems neurobiology and molecular and cellular biology labs.

Beyond the classroom, Kalorin has gained experience in multiple clinical settings, shadowing in cardiology, urology, and orthopedics. On campus, she has held leadership roles as historian of Drew's Tri-Beta Biological Society and secretary of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She has also coached youth tennis players for the past four years at Shrewsbury Racquet Club in her home state of New Jersey.

Kalorin leaves an indelible mark on the Drew women's tennis program. She earned First Team All-Landmark Conference honors in both singles and doubles in all four of her seasons and helped lead the Rangers to three Landmark titles (2022, 2023, 2024). She was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2023 Landmark Championships and the league's Rookie of the Year in 2022.

She closed her career with 49 singles victories and 58 doubles wins, setting Landmark Conference records for overall career doubles wins (58) and dual match doubles wins (56). She also holds Drew program records for career doubles victories and combined career singles and doubles wins (107). In recognition of her excellence, Kalorin was honored as Drew's 2025 Female Career Athlete of the Year.
 
Kalorin is Drew's fifth Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year this season, tying the most in school history. David Hoyt (men's soccer), Katerina Poulathas (women's swimming & diving), Mike Ford (men's golf), and Mike DeMayo (men's lacrosse) have earned the same award this year.
