Landmark Conference Championship Info
MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University softball team will open postseason play on Wednesday, when it visits Wilkes University in the first-round game of the Landmark Conference Championships.
The fifth-seeded Rangers (20-20, 7-9 LC) and the fourth-seeded Colonels (16-14, 10-6 LC) will face off at 3 p.m. Both teams have earned spots in the Landmark's double-elimination tournament, which runs Friday through Sunday at top-seeded Moravian University. Wednesday's winner will take on the Greyhounds in the opening game of the tournament, while the loser will open play in the elimination game.
The winner of the tournament receives an automatic bid in the NCAA Division III Championships.
Drew played its Landmark Conference opener at Wilkes back on March 22, with the Colonels winning both ends of a doubleheader, winning 4-3 in eight innings in the opener before capturing the second game 2-0.
The Rangers will be making their third appearance in the Landmark Conference Championships and their first in a non-Covid season since 2008, the Landmark Conference's inaugural season. Drew also competed in the 2021 Landmark tournament when, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, every team participated in the event.
