Women’s Tennis Captures Academic Honors from ITA

ITA Division III Scholar-Athletes | ITA Division III All-Academic Teams

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Drew University women's team has recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) at both the team and individual levels for its performance in the classroom over the past year.
 
The Rangers were one of 165 Division III women's tennis teams who were named as an ITA All-Academic Team, an honor given to squads that boast a team grade-point average of 3.20 or higher. The Rangers registered a 3.44 GPA for the year.

In addition, five Rangers were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. The award is given to student-athletes who accumulate a grade-point average of at least 3.50 during the current academic year. Senior Mary Kalorin, junior Nora Kosch, sophomores Kapriana Payami and Danielle Pettoni, and freshman Madison Williams all earned the award.
 
Kalorin captured numerous additional academic awards this past season, including the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's tennis. She also landed a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team and the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.
 
Kosch, Payami, and Pettoni also gained a spot on the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.
 
The Rangers registered a 10-10 record while posting a 6-3 mark versus Landmark Conference opponents this past season. The team finished in fifth place in the Landmark Conference standings while earning a spot in the conference's championship tournament.
