Camlet, Rizzolo Earn Victories at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Seniors Emily Camlet and Lauren Rizzolo earned one victory apiece to lead the Drew University women's indoor track & field team at the Collegeville Classic, hosted by Ursinus College, on Sunday.
 
Camlet captured her second event victory in three days. After winning the 400-meter dash at the Ramapo Season Opener in the Armory on Friday, Camlet made her debut in the 600 an impressive won, crossing the line first in 1:45.37 – over two seconds faster than the event runner-up.
 
Rizzolo posted a pair of top-three finishes, including her triumph in the weight throw. With a heave of 13.39 meters (43-11 1/4), she won the event by nearly three feet while defeating nine competitors. In addition, she finished third in a field of 14 in the shot put with a launch of 9.66 meters (36-7).
 
Three other Rangers were in action, including senior Dejanayha Hill, who placed fourth in the weight throw (11.15m/36-7) and sixth in the shot put (7.50m/24-7 1/4). Freshman Laiana Anderson finished fifth in both the long jump (4.41m/14-5 3/4) and the triple jump (9.29m/30-5 3/4) while senior Michaela Fajardo came in eighth in the weight throw (8.54m/28- 1/4) and 10th in the shot put (6.39m/20-11 3/4).
 
The Rangers continue their season on Saturday, Jan. 31, when they travel to the Alvernia University PLEX Shootout.
