DALLAS, Pa. - Sophomore
Quinn Donahue posted a big all-around performance to lead the Drew University men's volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Elmira College on the opening night of the Misericordia Classic on Friday.
The Rangers (3-1) won by scores of 26-24, 25-17, and 25-23.
Donahue posted a career-high 13 kills and did not make an error on 15 attempts for an incredible .867 hitting night. Sophomore

Michael Shipman contributed four blocks (three solo).
Trailing 24-22 in the opening set, the Rangers rallied with the final four points to go up 1-0. Drew seized a 10-7 lead in the second set and never surrendered the lead over the remainder of the period. In the final set, the Eagles jumped to an 11-6 lead, but the Rangers gradually chipped away at the deficit before going in front 20-19. It was tied 23-23 before Donahue and sophomore
Gio Martin ended the match with consecutive kills.
The Rangers conclude tournament play on Saturday, when they take on No. 11-ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology at 1 p.m. and Misericordia at 3 p.m.
