MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's soccer team played Lycoming College to a 0-0 tie in a Landmark Conference tilt on Senior Day in Ranger Stadium.
Prior to the start of the match, Drew's seven seniors –
Bianca Anghelache,
Georgia Cross,
Sarah Crowley,
Nicole Czarnecki,
Sophia Lara,
Maeve O'Murchu, and
Ella Reyngoudt – were recognized in a brief ceremony.
The Warriors (4-4-1, 0-1-1 LC) held a 15-12 edge in shots, and both sides attempted six corner kicks. Crowley tied a season-high with eight saves for the Rangers (3-2-4, 1-0-1 LC) while Leah Elliott stopped six shots for Lycoming.
The visitors outshot the Rangers 9-5 in the first half, but that's when Crowley made five of her saves.
The Rangers held a 7-6 shots edge in the second period, when it was Elliot's turn to collect five stops.
Drew had perhaps its best two looks late in the match, starting with a blast from Reyngoudt in the 80th minute. She fired a well-struck ball from the right wing that required Elliot to make a diving stop at the near post. Two minutes later, junior
Zoey Pipher launched a deep shot that was hauled in by Elliot.
The Rangers continue their season on Wednesday, when they visit Moravian University in another Landmark Conference affair starting at 7 p.m.
