TOWSON, Md. – For the fourth time this semester, senior
Emily Camlet has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week.
It was another week and another record-breaking performance for Camlet, who competed against mostly Division I athletes at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational. She turned in another stellar showing in the 400-meter dash, placing 15th in a field of 35 with a time of 55.86 seconds while shaving one-hundredth of a second off her own school and Landmark Conference records set just over a week earlier. That time also places her ninth on the Division III performance list for the season. She took second in her heat behind only Akrisa Eristee of Sprint Tech and finished first among five Division III competitors in the event.
In addition, Camlet broke her own school record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.20 seconds – a mark that currently ranks 44th in Division III. She won her heat by 0.19 seconds and dropped 0.16 seconds off her Drew record.
The Rangers continue their season on Saturday at the Fast Track Last Chance Meet, held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
