STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Drew University women's track & field team geared up for the Landmark Conference Championship with the Fast Track Last Chance Meet on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
 
The meet featured a mix of Division II, III, community college, and unattached competitors.
 
Junior Sage Hendershot turned in a pair of impressive performances in the sprints, including a fourth-place showing in a field of 32 in the 200-meter dash. She was clocked at 25.79 seconds. In addition, she placed 12th in a field of 28 in the 60-meter dash (7.80 seconds).
 
In the weight throw, the Rangers turned in a 4-5-6 finish, and senior Lauren Rizzolo led the way with a fourth-place finish, uncorking a throw of 12.20 meters (40-0). Junior Dejanayha Hill placed fifth with a mark of 11.70 meters (38-4) while freshman Zyen Haynesworth was sixth with a toss of 11.01 meters (36-1).
 
In the long jump, sophomore Lauryn Brown came in fifth in a field of 15 with a leap of 5.04 meters (16-6 1/2). In addition, junior Sarah Hattan placed 11th among 22 competitors in the 800-meter run (2:34.13).
 
The Rangers continue their season next Saturday at the Landmark Conference Championships at Susquehanna University.
