CHESTER, Pa. – The Drew University men's volleyball team came away with a split in a tri-match at Widener University on Saturday.
The Rangers opened the day with a 3-1 loss to Nazareth University before earning a 3-0 sweep over Widener.
Nazareth won by scores of 25-19, 25-20, 16-25, and 25-20 before the Rangers downed Widener 25-21, 25-16, and 25-19 for their first-ever victory over the Pride.
Against Nazareth, sophomore
Matthew Adegbite led Drew with eight kills without making an error on 19 swings for a .421 hitting performance. Sophomore
Quinn Donahue added 26 assists and six kills while classmate
Eric Forget collected nine digs. Freshman
Lucas Mondin recorded seven kills and six digs, and classmate
Isaiah Harris threw down five blocks. Senior
Jason Barbosa pitched in with seven digs.
Adegbite also led the Rangers versus Widener with 10 kills while Donahue notched 25 assists, eight digs, and six kills. Sophomore
Gio Martin posted six kills and four digs, and Forget posted another 11 digs.
The Rangers are now off until Friday, March 6, when they host Vassar College at 6 p.m. in a non-conference tilt.
