USTFCCCA Division III All-Metro Region Team
NEW ORLEANS – Three members of the Drew University women's track & field team have earned a spot on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Metro Region Women's Indoor Track & Field Team.
The top-eight individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned all-region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-eight relay teams.
Senior
Emily Camlet captured all-region honors in three events after finishing the season ranked No. 1 in the Metro in the 400-meter dash (55.75 seconds), No. 2 in the 200-meter dash (25.04 seconds), and No. 8 in the 60-meter dash (7.83). Meanwhile, junior
Sage Hendershot was recognized for her No. 2 ranking in the 60-meter dash (7.68 seconds) while sophomore
Lauryn Brown earned her award after finishing No. 7 in the triple jump (11.15 meters/36-7).
Camlet has now garnered nine all-region awards in indoor and outdoor track & field throughout her career. This past indoor season, she lowered her own school Landmark Conference record in the 400, and she also broke the conference record and dropped her own Drew record in the 200. She won the Landmark Conference title in the 400 and finished the season ranked No. 11 on the final Division III performance list in the event while qualifying for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships for the second year in a row. She went on to place 17th at the NCAA Division III Championships in the 400.
Hendershot, who lowered her own school record in the 60 this season, has now earned seven all-region awards for her career. She was the Landmark Conference runner-up in the 60, and she finished the season ranked No. 30 on the final Division III performance list in the event.
Brown captured all-region honors for the second time in her career, and she also captured a medal at the Landmark Conference Championships, earning the silver in the triple jump.
