D3baseball.com Team of the Week

MADISON, N.J. – Freshman Nick Donofrio has been selected to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week, the website announced Wednesday.
 
Donofrio, who earned a spot on the team as a designated hitter, helped power the Rangers to a Landmark Conference doubleheader sweep at Scranton by finishing 4-for-7 with three home runs and 11 RBIs while breaking one individual school record and helping set a team record. In the opener, a 17-11 Drew victory, he finished 2-for-4 with a homer and five RBIs. He followed up by going 2-for-3 with two home runs and six RBIs, driving in every run of the Rangers' 6-4 win. His first home run of the day broke Drew's team record for home runs, which now sits at 26, and his final long ball of the day was his ninth of the year, which broke the Drew record.
 
For the week, Donofrio batted .364 and slugged 1.182, finishing with four runs and 11 RBIs, helping the Rangers finish 3-1 in games that he played.
 
On the season, through the team's 10-0 Landmark Conference victory over Moravian on Wednesday, Donofrio has batted .292 with 10 home runs and a team-leading 44 RBIs.

The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its 15th season of recognizing the top performers at each position from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. 
 
The Rangers (20-15, 10-11 LC) return to action on Friday, when they host Juniata College at 3 p.m. in the opener of their final Landmark Conference series of the year.
