Camlet Captures Two Golds, Named Landmark Track Athlete of the Year

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Senior Emily Camlet won two gold medals and was honored as the conference Track Athlete of the Year, leading the Drew University women's track & field team on the second and final day of the Landmark Conference Championships on Sunday at Juniata College.
 
Camlet broke the tape in both the 200-meter dash (25.32 seconds) and the 400-meter dash (56.67 seconds), becoming the first Ranger in team history to win multiple events at a Landmark Conference Championship. In addition, she became the first Landmark Conference Athlete of the Year in Drew women's track & field history, which is in its third year as a varsity program.
 
Camlet won the 400 by 0.79 seconds and the 200 by 0.07 seconds. She finishes her Landmark Conference career with six gold medals, winning the 400 meters five times (indoor, 2024 through 2026; outdoor, 2024 & 2026) and the 200 meters once.
 
Sophomore Lauryn Brown also earned team points for Drew on Sunday by virtue of her top-eight finish. She placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.02 meters (36-2).
 
Also competing for the Rangers on Sunday were senior Lauren Rizzolo in both the javelin (14th, 28.00m/91-10) and the discus (23rd, 24.06m/78-11), freshman Laiana Anderson in the triple jump (15th, 9.15m/30- 1/4), sophomore Isabella Fortunato in the 400-meter hurdles (15th, 1:15.11), junior Sarah Hattan in the 800-meter run (2:34.39), and sophomore Bella Polizzi in the 800 (2:36.59).
 
In the relays, the 4x100 squad of Camlet, Anderson, Brown, and Fortunato placed sixth with a time of 51.84 while Brown, Hattan, Fortunato, and Camlet took seventh in 4:30.87.
 
Drew placed seventh in the team standings with 42 points to beat out Goucher College (5). The Rangers finished just 3.83 points behind Juniata College for sixth place.

The Rangers return to action on Saturday, when several members of the team compete at the Ramapo College Twilight Last Chance Meet.
