Armed with a large number of returning athletes, the Drew University men's soccer team will set its sights on a Landmark Conference title once again in 2026.
 
The Rangers bring back 22 players from last year's squad, including 12 who played in at least 10 games and 10 who scored a goal in 2025. The team will also be bolstered by an incoming class of 11 newcomers.
 
Drew is guided by 33rd-year Head Coach Lenny Armuth, whose 416 career victories rank him fifth among all current NCAA Division III men's soccer coaches.

The Rangers are coming off a year in which they made a stirring run to the Landmark Conference final. Entering the postseason as the No. 5 seed, Drew went on the road to knock off No. 4 Goucher (2-0) before advancing past No. 1-seeded and No. 17-ranked Scranton on PKs in the conference semifinals. The Rangers became just the second team to score against Scranton for the entire season and the two sides were tied 1-1 after regulation before the Blue and Green eventually won 5-4 in a shootout. Drew's season came to a close with a close 1-0 loss at No. 2 seed Catholic in the championship match.

In the Landmark Conference preseason coaches poll, the Rangers were picked to finish fourth among 10 teams and received one first-place vote.

At the offensive end, senior midfielder Ignacio Martinez returns as the team's leading goal scorer from a year ago. He netted five goals and handed out three assists for a team-leading 13 points. Additionally, sophomore forward Matt Munoz is back after finishing second on the team with four goals to go with one assist.

Senior midfielder Andrew Dunne, who scored the team's postseason goal at Scranton, also returns after netting three goals and three assists last season. One of the team's most experienced players, he has appeared in 52 games and made 50 starts for his career. Junior midfielder Turkcan Curak is back after posting two goals and two assists in 2025 while senior forward Kevin Martinez also returns after posting one goal and one assist a year ago. Martinez also scored five goals including a hat trick during his sophomore campaign. 

Senior midfielder Nate Keller also returns after playing in 16 matches last season, and he has posted three goals and five assists for his career. Junior midfielder Anthony Ruggiero is also back after notching one goal and one assist over 13 games and seven starts last season while junior forward Raymond McLeod Jr. returns after scoring one goal over 13 matches and five starts.

Also returning are senior midfielders Nick Forero and Caleb Omisore and sophomore midfielders Ryan Dunne, Connor Shea and Julius van Schijndel. In addition, freshman forwards Mason Boles, Aidan Burkett, and Chris Guerrero and first-year midfielders Kyle Harvey, Owen McCabe, and Julian O'Neill will look to make their mark.

Defensively, the Rangers return a number of key performers from last season, including junior Nick Venziale, who played in 16 matches and made 14 starts while contributing a pair of assists. He also converted the match-clinching PK in the playoff shootout at Scranton. 

Sophomore defender Lucas Czerniak is also back after playing in 18 matches and making 14 starts during his debut season. Junior Kosta Papanikolas returns after missing much of last season but started every match as a freshman. He posted one goal and one assist over just seven matches last year. Senior defender David Knox returns after playing in 10 games and making five starts while scoring one goal, and classmate Declan Marcilla Ryan is back after playing in seven matches and making six starts, including all three of the team's Landmark Conference playoff games. Additionally, sophomore David DiNola returns after starting the first three matches and scoring one goal before missing the rest of the season with an injury.

Providing additional depth on the back row will senior Ronnie Rodriguez, junior Roston Gough, and freshmen Matt Lipoff, Carlos Moncion, and Jayce Palumbo.

In goal, senior Donovan Friedhoff returns after earning a starting role in his first year as a Ranger. He finished 7-5-3 with a 0.99 goals-against average and an .813 save percentage to go with three shutouts, and he posted a career-high nine saves in the Landmark Conference final at Catholic. He also registered eight saves in the conference semifinals at Scranton. Freshmen Ilyas Alkan and Jacob Wexler will provide additional options between the pipes.

Drew plays its season opener on Tuesday, when it visits cross-town rival FDU-Florham at 7 p.m. in a non-conference tilt, and the team's home opener is two days later versus non-conference foe Merchant Marine. The Rangers visit Goucher College on Sept. 26.
