MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's volleyball team defeated both SUNY Maritime and Delaware Valley University in its third home tri-match of the season on Saturday in Baldwin Gym.
The Rangers swept Maritime (25-13-, 25-20, 25-17) before topping Delaware Valley (25-21, 18-25, 25-16, 25-17) to cap off a 3-0 week.
Drew was making its first-ever appearance versus both opponents.
Against Maritime, freshman
Jessica Donnelly led a balanced team effort with 10 kills and just one error on 15 swings for a .600 hitting percentage. Senior
Victoria Latino added nine kills and also committed just one error while senior
Alyssa Rachwal and freshman
Hailey Kenefick contributed 16 and 15 assists, respectively. Junior
Lindsey Millis contributed five service aces versus the Privateers while classmate
Aidyn Stone notched eight digs and three aces. Freshman
Aaliyah Anderson pitched in with three blocks.
Against the Aggies, Latino turned in another stellar performance with 21 kills, seven digs, and three blocks while exceeding 500 kills for her career (combined total from Niagara, Kean, and Drew). Rachwal contributed 29 assists and four aces while Kenefick handed out 17 assists. Millis contributed six kills, 14 digs, and four aces, Stone scooped 17 digs, and junior
Corletta Harrison added six kills and three blocks. Junior
Melissa Zack also posted six kills.
The Rangers pick up their schedule on Tuesday, when they visit Arcadia University in a non-conference match starting at 6 p.m.
