Drew women's soccer suffered a 3-0 loss at Moravian in the Landmark Conference opener for both squads. Arielle Caldas netted the hat trick for the Greyhounds with her first coming in the 5th minute of play. The loss is the Rangers' third in a row and drops their record to 3-5-1, 0-1 in the Landmark. Kim Jaikisson made five saves in goal for Drew.

Caldas put the Rangers on the back foot just five minutes into the game as she finished a nice move from the Greyhounds. Emily Rodriguez picked out Alessandra Valdetara on the wing. Valdetara's cross was well met by Caldas around 18 yards out for the opener.

The teams played even over the next 55 minutes as the game moved deep into the second half. Jaikisson was called upon to make three saves in the first half while the Ranger offense struggled to find a way through the Greyhounds. In the second half, Drew played much better on the offensive side, but not before Caldas was able to double the Greyhounds' lead from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute. Caldas made it three in the 72nd minute after collecting a rebound and slotting home from inside the 18.
Drew's Emily Weida had fired just over the bar prior to Caldas' third and Chelsea LeDuc's shot went wide just following that goal. The Rangers' best chances to get a consolation goal came in the 86th minute when Emily Tine hit the crossbar and then in the 88th when Michelle Malone drew a save out of Sarah Halpin.

The loss continues an unhappy streak of road losses for the Rangers. Drew is 0-4-1 on the road this season though those four losses have come against teams with a combined record of 31-6-4 on the season.

Drew has to hit the road again on Wednesday as they make a quick trip over to Stevens Tech to face the Ducks at 7 pm.
