NEW PALTZ, N.Y. (October 13, 2010) – After 110 minutes of soccer neither team was able to come out on top as the Rangers tied SUNY New Paltz 1-1 on the road. Shooting shot for shot in the first, both teams went into the half at nil.

The only scoring of the game came in the second half within minutes of one another. In the 60th minute, New Paltz (6-7-2) got on the board first when Brittany Bennett was awarded a free kick that she converted for the first score of the night. Drew (7-5-1) responded quickly when Christine Meconi(Brooklyn, N.Y / Midwood) knotted the game at one five minutes later. Sailing the ball from the far right wing, Meconi netted her fourth goal of the season.

The Rangers took four more shots in the contest, landing three on goal but could not seem to find the back of the net. The Hawks came out firing when the game became even at one, outshooting Drew 16-7.

In goal for the Rangers, Kim Jaikisson (Maplewood, N.J. / Columbia) anchored the defense recording eight saves on the night.
