MADISON, N.J. (October 23, 2010) - The Rangers will enter the Landmark Conference playoffs as the second seed for the second consecutive year after a 2-1 victory over Catholic this afternoon.

Drew (9-5-1, 4-1 Landmark) got on the board first in the 34th minute when freshman
Katie O'Keefe (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) came up with the lose ball on the left side of the net and converted it for her third goal of the fall.

The Rangers looked to have all the momentum going into the half but Catholic (6-8, 2-3 Landmark) managed to tie the game at one with just 45 seconds to go in the first frame. Catholic's Carolyn Girandola received a pass from Caitlin Brett and found the right corner of the net.

Drew would regain the lead 12:07 into the second half with heavy offensive pressure. The Rangers got three shots off right in front of the net with the last one finally converted into a goal. After a Drew shot the ball bounced back to the 18 yard line where
Courtney Carnevale (Princeton Junction, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro) was waiting. She collected the ball and fired it into the net for her second goal of the year.

The Rangers will return to action on Wednesday when they go across the street for the final fall edition of the "Battle of Madison Ave.". Gametime is set for 7:00.

After the mostly even first half the Rangers turned gained a statistical advantage almost every category in the second. The Rangers outshot the Cardinals 7-3 final frame while drawing five more corners.
