Women's Soccer Completes Fall Sweep of FDU

MADISON, N.J. (October 27, 2010) - Two goals from
Courtney Carnevale (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro) helped pace the Rangers for their 10th win of the season.
Drew (10-6-1) built a 2-0 lead over a three minute span early in the first half.
Christine Meconi (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) served up a corner kick that was collected by Carnevale and put home for the first goal of the night.. Junior
Michelle Malone (Rochelle Park, N.J./Paramus Catholic) then put the Rangers up two goals when she lofted a ball into the net from nealry 35 yards out in the 23rd minute.
Farleigh Dickinson (12-5-1) would not go down easy as they were able to outshoot the Rangers in the first half and match them with seven corners. The Devils got on the board once in the first half and were able to tie the game 15 minutes into the second.
The Rangers would catch a break in the 67th minute when Malone was pushed down in the opposing box. It looked as if Drew had advantage on the play and were about to put the ball into the net but a whistle was blown. Head Coach

Allison McCord (Southampton, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep) to take the penalty kick which she would convert to put the Rangers up 3-2.
Carnevale and Meconi would link up again to put the game out of reach with 7:08 remaining in the game. The goal came once again off a corner, in which Carnevale netted her fourth goal of the fall.
The Rangers now hold a 11-6-1 all-time advantage against the Devils and avenge a 5-4 loss in Ranger Stadium from a year ago. Both the Rangers and Devils have clinched playoff berths in their respective conferences this season.
The Rangers will finish out their Landmark Conference regular season schedule this Saturday against Susquehanna in Selinsgrove, Pa. at 1:00. Drew has clinched the second seed in conference tournament and will await the weekend's games to determine their first round opponent.
