Box Score
SELINSGROVE, Pa. (October 30, 2010) - Though the regular season finale didn't mean anything in regards to Landmark Conference playoff seeding, the Rangers will ride a three-game winning streak into the postseason.
Drew (11-6-1, 5-1 Landmark) picked up their fourth-straight Landmark Conference win with a 2-0 win over Susquehanna this afternoon. The Rangers finish the fall with the most conference wins since entering the Landmark in 2007 and will be the second seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference tournament.
The Rangers struck quickly as freshman,
Liz Loiodice (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll) scored off a cross from
Christine Meconi (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) in the box. The goal was her sixth of the year and the third against conference opponent.
The teams would remain scoreless until Drew was able to add an insurance goal in the 62nd minute. Meconi was credited with an unassisted goal to cap off a brilliant offensive week for the senior. She assisted two goals on Wednesday night in a 4-2 win over Farleigh Dickinson.
Dana De Barros (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) made her fourth career start in net for the Rangers, coincidently her third against Susquehanna. She made four saves and picked up her third shutout of her career.
With all Landmark Confernce play concluded, the Rangers will host a the conference semifinals on Wednesday against Juniata. The Rangers defeated the Eagles 3-1 in Madison back on October 16. A game time has yet to be annouced.
