STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (October 5, 2010) - Women's soccer picked its fifth road victory of the season this afternoon with a lopsided, 4-0 victory over The College of Staten Island. The Ranger defense did not surrender a shot en route to their fifth shutout of the fall.
Junior
Kristin Blake (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) picked up her first goal of the season 30 minutes into the contest off a pass from
Michelle Malone (Rochelle Park, N.J./Paramus Catholic). Blake took a quick shot that hit off the left post and trickled into to the back of the net.
Drew (7-4) would do the rest of their scoring in the next six minutes. The combination of
Katie O'Keefe (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) and junior
Abby Dingle (Metuchen, N.J./Metuchen) would link up for the next two scores in the 34th and 35th minute. Dingle was on the finishing end of both goals and tallied her first two goals of the year.
The Rangers would register their final goal of the afternoon just 23 seconds after making the score 3-0.
Liz Loiodice (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll) scored an unassisted, point blank goal for for the final score of the day.
With Staten Island (5-2) not registering shot, goalkeepers
Kim Jaikisson (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) and
Dana DeBarros (East Hanover/Hanover Park) combined for shutout.
Drew will continue its conference schedule when they travel to Scranton on Saturday for a 1:00 PM bout.
