Box Score
MADISON, N.J. (November 3, 2010) - The Rangers claimed a 3-1 victory over Juniata in the semifinal round of the conference playoffs. They will play in their first Landmark Championship game since the inception of the conference in 2007.
Drew (12-6-1, 5-1 Landmark) was able to open up the early lead when
Emily Weida (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) picked up her team-leading eighth goal fo the year. She received a nice cross from freshman
Liz Loiodice (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll) to put the Rangers up 1-0.
Juniata (9-8-1, 3-3 Landmark) would respond before the half in the 38th minute on an unassisted goal by Alicia Snyder. Drew, for the most part, would controlled the pace of the game in the first half. They outshot the Eagles 5-2 in the first frame and had two corner kicks to the Eagles zero.
The Rangers wasted no time grabbing the lead back.
Michelle Malone (Rochelle Park, N.J./Paramus Catholic) was credited with her third goal of the year in the 47th minute. The ball trickled out of the box off a Drew corner and Malone was able to rip a shot into the left side of the goal for the eventual gamewinner.
Loidice put the game out of reach for the Rangers with a little over seven minutes to play with her third point of the contest.
Kiana Lundy (Boonton Twp.,/Mountain Lakes) dribble the ball deep into Eagle territory and was able to find Loidice for the third goal of the game. Lundy's assist was her second of the fall.
Kim Jaikisson(Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) made three saves on the day earning her 11th win of the year.
Drew will travel to Scranton on Saturday, as the Royals defeated Moravian 2-0. A game time has yet to be announced.
