Drew Falls to #3 TCNJ in Home Opener

- Drew women's soccer came out strong against nationally ranked TCNJ. This was only the second meeting between the two since 1990. The Rangers kept the Lions silent until they scored the eventual game-winner with only 2:35 remaining in the first half.
Throughout the first half, the Rangers were forced to play strong defense as the Lions came out shooting.
Kim Jaikisson (Columbia, N.J. / Columbia) made 6 saves for Drew in goal. Even though the Lions took nine shots for the game, they were scoreless until the 42nd minute when Michelle Canning scored off a deflected header into the top right corner.
Michelle Malone (Rochelle Park, N.J. / Paramus Catholic) took the lone shot on goal for the Rangers but was unable to find the back of the net.
Down 1- 0 the Rangers came out hungry in the second half, yet were unable to connect. With their backs to the wall in the second, they were able to stay stride for stride with TCNJ, the No. 3 ranked team nationally.
Drew women's soccer returns to action this weekend when they travel to nearby Hackettstown for the annual Cyclone Classic hosted by Centenary College. Drew will kickoff the action at 1:00 on Saturday when they take on Medgar Evans.
